I found my Pete in the crawl space of the house I lived in during college. I was down there putting some things away when I looked down and saw some white ceramic material sticking out through the dirt floor. After dusting away roughly a half inch to an inch of dirt, I unearthed a very interesting dragon "sculpture." After washing it off and getting a better look at the "sculpture" I deduced that it was a bong, only missing the slide. Of course, being a college student, I had a slide to spare. The rest, as they say, is history, and I have been enjoying Pete's company for many years since.

Thank you to those responsible for putting this site together. It has been a joy learning about all of the unique and interesting characters that Rumph created during his career.

I AM 22 JEARS OLD AND I FOUND MY PETE THE DRAGOM IN A BARN AT A FRIENDS WHEN I WAS 15 AND LIKE U MINE HAD NO SLIDE THAT IS WEIRD HOW TOWO PEOPLE FIND THE SAME BONG

Mine is green, white, and gold. It also has the flat bottom and is hand-signed with a marker in two places. On the bottom, it is signed "J RUMPH 7/20 1981". On his belly, it is signed "J RUMPH 80".

So this proves he did actually make some pieces in completely different colors and had some with different bottoms.

I recently inherited one of these from my mom who has had it since it was made, I decided to do some research on it, and had no idea it was such a rare and special piece of art. I am honored to have it, My Petey is in near perfect condition despite around 34 years of love and use. I have sinse learned all I can about Jim Rumph who sounds like a true artist and a good dude. May he rest in peace, and live on forever in his creations.

My aunt bought this piece in a head shop in 1979 or 1980 probably in the San Fernando Valley. I say it's priceless because she has had it for so long and it is in great/ mint condition. She no longer smoke from it but back through the 1980's and 1990's she used this piece all the time with her friends. It has no cracks except of I'm correct from the kiln and cooling process.

Notice the sticker on the bottom of this one. It proves RUMRA was a Rumph company.
