I purchased this piece from Jim Rumph in 1975. We were good friends during the decade of the 70's before we lost touch with each other. This Moon with Base sculpture is the same finish and color as the Monkey on the Moon piece. It is signed and dated 1975 in the clay on the bottom of the Moon. It is also stamped in the clay on the bottom of the base "Mind Circus" and signed in ink "Rumph". The Moon with Base measures 13 1/2" tall including the 3" base, it is 11" in diameter. The base is not connected to the Moon and the Moon rests into the base.

Mine, which I call the Venus Globe, was a gift from the artist. I asked Jim if this was the moon or a planet and his response was that it wasn't the moon, and that it was really Venus, but his marketers (to whom he refered with disdain) weren't interested. So moon it is. Same moon, only unglazed an with a reddish hue.
