King Kong Tankard



Large tankard in the shape of King Kong's head. It has a serpent for a handle and Fay Wray in the bottom of the inside.
Measures 7" tall and 9" wide. It is marked "KING KONG ...IT WAS BEAUTY KILLED THE BEAST." on the back and "J RUMPH © MIND CIRCUS 1976" on the bottom.

* This piece comes in an alternate and rare version where Kong's mouth is open and the back reads "King Kong" while the bottom reads "© RUMPH'S SLYME FACTORY USA 1976".

** The girl can vary in color and how much boob is shown. The serpent color and inside glaze can vary as well.

The open mouth version has to be very rare. Given by Jim's wife to a friend. Signed Slyme Factory, which there are very few of any signed. Valued at $1000.00.

MUG depicts THE FACE OF KONG, in MUG form, complete with a SERPENT HANDLE and miniature "ANN DARROW" (FAYE WRAY?!) on the bottom of the MUG'S interior, with "J Rumph, © Mind Circus 1976" on the outside bottom. "KING KONG ...IT WAS BEAUTY KILLED THE BEAST" is sculpted on the BACK of the MUG, which is six-and-one-half inches high, and nearly four inches wide at the mouth.

Mine appears to be a different version where the girl is less colorful and has the top of her dress covering both breasts, unlike the others pictured.
Purchased at 1976 Equicon Science Fiction Convention in Los Angeles. Has spent 27 of the last 29 years in sealed storage.
