Jim had a picture of Steven Spielberg's mother, whom Jim befriended, holding this piece. I'm not sure, but I think it was featured with her in one of the local papers.

According to a recent ebay listing:

Jim Rumph gave one of these E.T. busts to Mama Spielberg (she owned a deli in West LA) with the idea that Steven would grant him a license to make ET pieces given Rumph's track record with the Star Wars mugs for Lucas. Mama Spielberg even posed with it in her 1982 People Magazine article when E.T. was released. For whatever reason, Rumph never got the license (perhaps too expensive or already granted to someone else), but Spielberg did have Rumph make several copies for himself and friends. Rumph made a few more and gave them to his friends. Legend has it that appx. 20 were made in total. This particular piece was given to Ray Bradbury by Rumpph.

This one was given directly to me by Jim and is the only one known to have a painted gold finger.

This one came from Jim's estate and was dedicated to his mother.

As seen in the various pictures, there seems to be three different versions of the E.T. - a piggy bank with a coin slot, a sealed head version, and a planter with a large hole.
