OIL PAINTING

In 1965 Jim was a starving artist and I had a few extra bucks. I asked him to do an oil painting for my condo at the beach, depicting my life as he saw it at the time. I did not expect what I saw in his rough sketch, but I told him to do it.

The concept is the center of the painting - the result of all that surrounds it. Amyl is Amyl Nitrate - a cheap high at the time. I was a member of the Playboy Club at the time, hence the key to the Playboy Club. The dollar bill is what allows all this to happen - my name is in place of George Washington if you blow it up. The headless women are to depict the time - who cared what the names were - sex was the object.
