Repulsive full-head POSSESSION mask



Advertised as "Repulsive full-head POSSESSION mask", this is believed to be the only wearable rubber headmask Rumph ever created. Offered as part of a series called "Extraterrestrial Transformations" which featured makeup supplies and prosthetics. The backside has additional faces of horror and, in tribute to THE EXORCIST, a plaintive appeal: "Help Me"! Marked "© RUMPH'S MIND CIRCUS 1974" on the back of the mask. Only five copies of this mask are known to exist.

The last picture is of Rumph's personal copy, made of foam rubber. Shown with its forked tongue, a separate prosthetic. Rumph had rigged his personal copy to spit up pea soup from the parasitic face! Current whereabouts unknown.

This astounding "Repulsive full-head POSSESSION mask" sculpted by Jim Rumph and originally offered via makeup artist Steve Neill's short-lived company, Extraterrestrial Transformations. This poor fellow is in such an advanced state of demonic possession that he has been literally transformed into a creature from the pits of Hell! All that remains of his soul is his dwarf-like human head desperately trying to tear itself free from the demon's face. This is the only wearable rubber mask Rumph ever created, sculpted in 1974 after Jim was traumatized by repeated showings of THE EXORCIST (note the plaintive tribute: "Help Me" inscribed on the backside, along with protruding monster and skull faces, scars, leaking brains etc.)Truly an awesome and repulsive piece. Marked "© RUMPH'S MIND CIRCUS 1974".

SIZE IS APPX. 12" Tall x 10" Wide x 9" Deep ~*CONSIGNOR FROM THE COLLECTION STATES THAT THIS MASK CAME DIRECTLY FROM JIM - Unfinished and Unpainted mask still has flash from molding - Some light spotting from age - Neck is a narrow fit.
