Added Information:
I purchased this piece from Jim Rumph in 1974. We were good friends and I collected many of Rumph's pieces. This planter is large; 15" X 11" X 7". It is signed and dated 1974 in the clay on the top lip and on the front base. It is also stamped in the clay on the bottom "Mind Circus" and "Rumph 1974".

I *think* I bought this at a Spencer's in Maryland in '74.
I met Jim Rumph once at an SF Con, I think it was Los Angeles in '75. I used to own a few mugs and a bong. Wish I still had them.

A photo Jim took, I post to have a look at the planter, raw, dry and unfired, the mirror is leaning against it. He often invited me in to create in his Mind Circus, Inc. 18th Street Studio.

- Mine is a rare polychrome back
- Tooth and wart detail. Teeth were sculpted independently and added prior to firing. Warts and other polychrome details were painted into the mold prior to adding slip - or Slyme as Rumph used to say
- Eyes were also sculpted and added after the piece came out of the mold. This one stares wildly to the left.
- Star and warts were pre-painted in the mold, then the horns were added afterwards and all were fired again.
